Black Holes

Black holes are a deformation of space-time caused by extremely compact mass. It is believed that nothing can escape a black hole. Not even light. The event horizon is the invisible point at which all things are absorbed. The only reason we can even see one of these great objects is due to the matter it is sucking it. There are some black holes that are so massive that they hold more matter than a great many stars put together. In the artist rendition of a black hole shown above, you can see the giant line going through the center. This is matter that is being ejected from the black hole at the speed of light.
